Rhoer Affiliates

A love for youth and the development of their full potential was the primary motivating factor that inspired Founder Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little to organize Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Young people today face challenges that could never have been imagined years ago, but such challenges provide the sorority with opportunites to carry on the vision of Little.

Rhoers are young girls organized on a local, regional and national level. The Rhoer affiliates are working to help other young people while they learn about their heritage and develop leadership skills. Sigma Gamma Rho is dedicated to helping Rhoers to grow to be women of substance dedicated to service.

The Rhoer Club of Eta Chi Sigma

The Rhoer Club is the youth affiliate group of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., founded in 1939 at the 14th Biennial Boule. The first Rhoer Club was formed in 1940 by Alpha Eta Chapter. Rhoers, young ladies ages 13 – 18 of age, are organized locally, regionally and internationally. These young ladies are provided with educational, vocational, civic, social and cultural experiences by the sorority and are sponsored by alumnae chapters. A love for youth and the development of their full potential was the primary motivating factor that inspired Founder Mary Lou Allison Gardner-Little to organize youth. The challenges faced by our youth today are such that could never have been imagined years ago. These challenges provide the sorority with opportunities to carry on the vision of Founder Little. Sigma Gamma Rho is dedicated to helping Rhoers to grow to be women of substance dedicated to service in the community.
